Picture Lady

Linda has been volunteering at both schools that our Grand-daughters attend for the past 3 years. Every other week she goes into the classrooms and gives a short presentation on Art that she gets from the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville. The kids love the sessions and the Teachers really love the break. Actually the kids really do learn a lot about the Art. In this picture Zoe is up at the easel with the picture pointing out some colors and patterns. Of course the G-Girls think it pretty neat that Grandma is doing it for their class.

Grandpa or Pop Pop also gets in the action frequently with reading to the classes especially Zoe's class. Her teacher is one of our favorites and is a little pushy when it comes to getting him to do it. Actually both of their teachers like to have men read to the kids. Their school has a lot of Navy family and a lot of single parent families so the kids don't always have Dads around to do reading.



After Zoe's class but before Katie's class we have
lunch with both girls. Typically it's in the lunch room sitting at the tables with the class. The decibel level there can only be understood if you've had lunch with 200 kids that have been pent up waiting to get out of the room!!


Linda's second "Picture Lady" class is with Katie's 2nd grade group. Actually this one is larger than other classes because the teacher co-teaches with another so they wanted both groups to hear the session. Sometimes it can be a little too big with 40 kids in the room and Katie would definitely like it better if Grandma would restrict it to just her class. That way she could get more face time.
