Breast Cancer Marathon

What else would you do on a Sunday morning. Linda volunteered that we would work to support the National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer. It was the 2nd year of the marathon which raises money for the research of a cure and to assist women to get medical help when they can not afford it on their own. It is sponsored by the Mayo Clinic and many businesses here and nationally. Stephanie has been one of the people helping to train runners to race and has run both of the marathons. I thought it was a great idea until I learned that we had to be there at 3:30 AM. It was a little cool and rainy but we did it. We worked handing out water and fruit to the runners before and after the race. We finally got home at 2 PM on Sunday tired but happy we did it. This is Linda at the Starting Line at 7:30 AM. We've already worked 4 hours and I'm retired!

Stephanie stopped by our booth before the start of the race. You can see she looked ready for the run and it's almost day light out side as she takes drinks some water.

Wow look at the crowd of runners. They had over 7000 runners for the race from all over the US and several international runners from Europe, Africa, Canada and other countries.

Stephanie with Betsy her running partner for the race. Can you believe they look that good after running 26.2 miles!
