After 2 days at sea it was great to be on land and even better to return to Denmark the country of my Great Grandfather Alfred Orum. It was a very sunny fall day to enjoy Copenhagen. Here we are on one of the canal tour boats and this is the popular tourist picture of the houses of Nahavn along the canal.
Our time in Copenhagen was spent on a lovely day with our favorite Danes. Here Asta and her parents Lydia and Johannes Tarp. Asta arranged a wonderful lunch for us after the boat ride in the canals of Copenhagen.
Here also is the famous Copenhagen Little Mermaid. She actually pretty small but very famous.
After lunch we walked to the top of an old water tower for a view of Copenhagen from the roof top. A pretty scene of the picture perfect church steeples.
Joining us for our day in Copenhagen were several members of our extended family. Here are our favorite Danish cousins the Tarp family. Here are Johannes and Lydia with their sons Svend Erik and Hans Kristian with wives Hertha and Annete. Also daughters Karen Kristine and Asta along with grand-children Thomas, Mathilde, Christina, Marianne and Stine. How thrilled we were to have this many of them travel from Jutland all the way to Copenhagen for the day. Their trip would take them a full day travel by car and train.
We were joined in town by our friends the Mulveys from Ponte Vedra and they thought our Danish relatives were "so nice". I told them it was in the genes.
